System Overview & Objectives

Quran Gateway LMS is a custom learning management platform engineered to manage the complex operational demands of an online educational academy. Currently at approximately 90% completion, the system serves two distinct user bases: administrative staff running academy operations, and parents/guardians monitoring their children's educational development.

The platform replaces fragmented manual workflows (spreadsheets, third-party messaging apps, disjointed video links) with a unified, secure portal designed to support a projected capacity of 1,000 to 10,000 active users in its initial operational year.

Modern Full-Stack Architecture

The platform is engineered with modern full-stack web standards, prioritizing type safety, real-time synchronization, and high-performance server rendering:

  • TanStack Start (React 19 & SSR): Full-stack React framework providing streaming server-side rendering, robust server functions, and automatic code-splitting.
  • TanStack Router & Query: Type-safe client routing, deeply integrated search parameter state management, and optimistic cache invalidation for instant dashboard interactions.
  • Tailwind CSS v4 & shadcn/ui (Radix Primitives): Accessible, composable UI components with strict keyboard navigation and ARIA conformance.
  • Supabase: Managed PostgreSQL database utilizing Row Level Security (RLS) policies for strict role-based data isolation, Supabase Auth for session handling, and Edge Functions for background tasks.
  • Zod: End-to-end schema validation enforcing strict data contracts between client inputs, server functions, and database mutations.
  • LiveKit Cloud: Scalable WebRTC infrastructure powering low-latency live audio and video communication directly inside the virtual classroom.

Dual-Audience Functional Scope

1. Staff Administrative Portal (14 Permission Modules)

The staff administration portal is organized around 14 granular permission modules, granting role-based access control across:

  • Student and instructor onboarding.
  • Course schedule orchestration and classroom assignment.
  • System audit logging and dispute resolution.

2. Parent & Guardian Portal

  • Guardian-Linking Management: Multi-student household management allowing parents to link and oversee multiple siblings under a single unified dashboard.
  • Real-Time Attendance & Daily Reports: Instructors log session completion, lesson milestones, and student engagement daily.
  • Auto-Generated Monthly PDF Progress Reports: Daily instructor records automatically compile into comprehensive monthly PDF progress digests dispatched directly to parents.

Purpose-Built Child Safety: In-Class AI Monitoring

A cornerstone architectural requirement for the academy was child protection. Rather than relying on generic keyword blockers or manual spot-checks, an integrated AI monitoring layer was engineered specifically to detect and flag situations where an instructor attempts to solicit off-platform contact with a minor student (e.g., requesting private phone numbers, personal social media handles, or unmonitored external video channels).

When an off-platform contact attempt is detected, the event triggers immediate automated administrative alerts and session logging, providing a concrete layer of child safety defense.

Deployment Status & Design Target

Quran Gateway LMS is currently in late-stage development (~90% complete) and undergoing internal feature validation. The architecture has been benchmarked and designed for a target capacity of 1,000 to 10,000 users in year one.
